A centenary golf course in the heart of Biarritz
Designed and built in 1888 by the architect, Willie Dunn, the 18-hole Biarritz Le Phare golf course is set in the heart of the town amidst superb surroundings. It remains not only an example of the history of golf in France but also bears the tradition of the origins of golf in the Basque country.
Throughout the years it has remained truly British, both technically and in its style by blending perfectly with the landscape.
Situated between the mountains and the sea it offers excellent playing conditions throughout the year due to the particularly mild climate.

A prestigious environment
A technical golf course
The Biarritz Le Phare golf course stretches out over 34 hectares with fast greens and discreet roughs. One could be fooled into thinking that it is an easy course and not physically demanding. However, it is essentially a technical course, making it sometimes difficult to score. With a total of 70 bunkers, it reminds one, should the need arise, that the game of golf is above all a test of reflection and perspicacity.
In the town centre, close to the sea
Located in the centre of the town, this ancient course has the advantage of being close to all the resort’s attractions. Close to the sea, it benefits from a temperate climate throughout the year: mild in the winter and not too hot in the summer.
