Conditions of travel to France from abroad
The sanitary measures applying to travelers coming to France have changed since 9th June 2021. It now depends on the sanitary situation of the country of origin and vaccination status of each travellers.
The countries has been classified according to health indicators. A world map with three colours has been created to identify the ratings of each country. The list can change depending on the epidemic situation in the country of origin.
The European area (Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland and Vatican City), Australia, Bahrein, Brunei, Canada, Chili, Hong-Kong, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, New Zealand, Qatar,Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Korea, Taïwan, Union of Comoros, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay and Vanuatu.
Afghanistan, Brazil, Costa-Rica, Cuba, Georgia, Iran, Maldives, Pakistan, Russia, Seychelles, Suriname and Turkey.
All non-EU countries except those on the “green” and “red” country lists.
Each traveler has to present various documents to enter
You can enter with a proof of completed vaccination or without proof with negative PCR or antigen test for Covid-19 performed within 72 hours.
You can enter with a proof of completed vaccination and with a sworm statement or without proof with a travel certificate, a sworm statement, negative PCR within 48 hours of departure, antigenic test on arrival for travelers aged 11 or over, respect a 10 days isolation period after your entry in France.
You can enter with a proof of completed vaccination and with a sworm statement or without proof with a travel certificate,, a sworm statement, negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure or a negative antigen test carried out within 48 hours before departure (except travelers from the United Kingdom who will have to present a PCR or antigen test of less than 24 hours), antigenic test on arrival for travelers aged 11 or over, respect a 7 days isolation period after your entry in France.
In France, vaccination is validated when vaccination is completed:
- 7 days after the 2nd injection for double injection vaccines (Pfizer/Comirnaty, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria/Covishield/Fiocruz/R-Covi);
- 28 days after injection for vaccines with a single injection (Johnson & Johnson);
- 7 days after a single injection for people with a history of Covid-19.
Since August 9th 2021 a « health pass » is required to access:
- leisure and cultural venues
- catering facilities
- long-distance travels on the national territory
- health, social and medical services and establishment
- shopping centers of more than 20,000 square metres
The presentation of a “health pass” is also requested for minors from 12 years and 2 months to 17 years old, as of September 30th 2021.
